IMPORTANT MPSL ANNOUNCEMENT

The MPSL Executive Board is closely monitoring the weather forecast for this Saturday's Divisional Championships. At this time, the forecast is calling for the potential of thunderstorms throughout the day.

While we are hopeful that the forecast improves, we want to be proactive rather than have host teams and participating teams scrambling with last-minute changes on Friday. To help everyone prepare, we are sharing the contingency plans that will be implemented should severe weather make them necessary.

A final decision regarding the implementation of these contingency plans will be made on Friday by approximately 12:00 PM, and all teams will be notified at that time.

A Division

If severe weather is expected to impact the meet, A Division will be split into two sessions due to limited indoor seating capacity.

  • Boys Session First
  • Girls Session To Follow

All seating and spectators will be accommodated indoors, which is the reason for the need to split sessions.

B Division

Because B Division is currently scheduled at an outdoor facility, the meet will be relocated to the Alumni Pool at Elizabethtown College if severe weather necessitates moving indoors.

Due to a large music camp taking place on campus, along with ongoing renovations around the gymnasium, indoor space will be limited. Therefore, the meet will also be split into two sessions to mirror the A Division format:

  • Boys Session First
  • Girls Session To Follow

Parking Information

Please note that parking will be restricted due to the campus event.

  • All parking must be in lots accessible from Cedar Street [Brinser, Founders, Hackman, Tennis Courts]
  • Do not park in lots accessed from College Avenue, as those lots will be reserved for the campus event (a parking attendant will be there to help direct)

Additional parking maps and directions will be provided if this contingency plan is implemented.

C Division

No changes are anticipated for C Division.

The competition venue and spectator seating are already indoors, so this meet is not expected to be impacted by the current weather forecast.

Impact on All Stars

Depending on the severity and timing of the forecasted storms, there may also be impacts to preparations for Sunday's All-Star Meet hosted by Annville.

Current forecasts include the possibility of overnight severe weather, which could affect tent setup on Saturday evening. If weather impacts Annville's own facility setup, the timeline for team tent setup may also need to be adjusted.

Annville will provide an update regarding Saturday evening tent setup by 5:00 PM on Saturday if any changes become necessary. Please communicate this possibility to your families now so they can plan accordingly.

Additionally, if A and B Division Championship meets are split into two sessions, there could be delays in:

  • Determining All-Star qualifiers
  • Producing and distributing All-Star psych sheets

We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding should these delays occur.

To help expedite the process, please ensure all All-Star scratches are submitted as soon as possible—and no later than Friday. Timely scratches will greatly assist in preparing qualifiers and meet information as efficiently as possible. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13qRpDw_SaAVvK3lUpoIarADL6TqiZ0YSJUL-2EZw4lk/edit?usp=sharing

Again, we sincerely hope the forecast improves and none of these contingency plans become necessary. However, we believe it is important to communicate potential changes in advance so that host teams, visiting teams, coaches, swimmers, and families have time to prepare.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for your flexibility and cooperation, and we look forward to a great championship weekend.
